Fabu-less: Herve Leger

So a multitude of celebs have been seen wearing the bandage Herve Leger dress...

With a sticker price of $1050.00 + this is quite a pricey item for the regular folk, like me!

But luckily if your into this look, Express is selling a VERY similar version in there retail outlets.

The Express Herve inspired dress (to the right) goes for only $79.00. Check out Express for details.

And for those who look not to follow the Herve celebrity craze, step out the box with this number...

It's the Marc Jacobs Check dress that goes for $378.00. I love it.

Shop Bergdorf Goodman for details.

Style Hustle Review: Design’s by Tuesdai

Revamp your wardrobe, literally. In 2005 artist and denim designer Tuesdai Noelle, launched Tuesdai Jeans, a unique idea that incorporates your denim with her artistic abilities. Simply send in your old jeans to Tuesdai to have her transform them into a new rhinestone studded creation. Cost for transforming your own jeans, $25.00 or you can get a recycled pre-washed pair for $45.00.

Having come from being homeless and unemployed to a budding entrepreneur, Tuesdai's story is impressive:

In 2005, the vision of young collage artist and denim designer Tuesdai Noelle, of Designs by Tuesdai, emerged from urban hardship in the city of Detroit. Having been homeless and unemployment 18 months earlier, this urban princess delved into her creativity. In the kitchen, seated at an old wooden table, inspiration met opportunity and Tuesdai a true "diamond in the rough" began shining brighter than ever before. With determination and rhinestone in hand her unique handcrafted designs were drawn on pre-washed recycle jeans. In that moment, Designs by Tuesdai became more than a collection of decorative denim. It's an outreach for the "everyday" girl.

Tuesdai has a special place in her heart for those who desire to look high fashion but simply cannot afford it. For this reason, she wanted to give the "everyday" girl an extraordinary opportunity, by allowing her the opportunity to mail in used jeans and have them re-designed by Tuesdai--and that's precisely what she did! She has certainly had her share of challenges and setbacks, while climbing the fashion industry ladder, yet she continues to make great strides. Truly a remarkable lady, a rising star in fashion, and a designer for the "everyday" girl, Tuesdai Noelle.

Zara International Sale!

This post is extremely over due as the Zara extravaganza sale has been going on for some time now. If you have haven't had the opportunity to visit Zara you should do so ASAP. This Spain based High-style/ reasonable cost shop RARELY has sales and when they finally do, it isn't something to miss. Many of the items are on average 30 -70% off original prices!

I went yesterday; it was PACKED and I felt like I was in there for hours! Just when I was about to head to the checkout line with my findings (pair of shoes and a shirt for 9 bucks), I saw this cute dress hanging randomly on some pants and other clothes. ANNDD it was only 20bucks! As I eagerly grabbed the dress, a few of the other random items fell on the floor so I picked them up. So this randomly lady thanks me for picking them up as she was trying a her coat. It wasn't until then that I realized, I snatched the lady's dress she placed to the side to try on her coat! I frantically ran to the check out line hoping she wouldn't notice. Ahhheeee, I couldn't let the dress go. Its mean i know.

The Devious Dress....brooohhahaa

Style Resolution: Comfortable Corporate Swag

Happy 2008! Everyone…I hope that you all have decided to start fresh and new in some way, shape or form.

I for one have decided to up my work dress game a little bit.

I dream of the “Devil wears Prada” styled work attire on a daily basis…ahhh

Not that I’m not up to par already but I could definitely use some improvement. With me working in the city there are too many hot and popping after work event’s for me not to be prepared. I’m sure many of you like me, like to be completely comfortable while at work. That’s exactly my thought process when I wake up most mornings. I normally nix the idea of wearing any heels cause by lunch time the soles of my feet are usually in pain so I wear flats or very low heels. And because I savor every last millisecond of sleep possible I can get in the morning, it leaves me with no time to actually “think” an outfit together. No more!

And doesn’t it seem like the day you decide to wear the “I don’t give a damn today” outfit, you run into Er’body and there mama? As they probably think you ran into hard times or something, lol. But I digress.

So, I will no longer refuse a last minute fly “freakum dress” after work event because I decided to wear flats, a thick linty sweater and slacks on that day. From now on I will be prepared.

Here are some looks I both plan on storing in my desk drawer for an emergency after-work occasion and incorporating into the work wardrobe.
